metropolradruhr connects 25 municipalities with more than 1,000 stations and around 5,700 bikes. That only works with strong partners by our side: the region’s public transport operators, and partners who care about the Ruhr area as much as we do.

Our public transport partners

Bikes and public transport belong together. Bus and rail get you across the region fast, and metropolradruhr covers the first and last mile. Season ticket holders with these partners get free minutes on every ride.

DSW21

Dortmund

Conditions

30 free minutes on every metropolradruhr rental. After that, the basic tariff applies.
If you rent more than 1 bike at the same time, the free minutes apply to the first bike only.
Cargo and e-cargo bikes aren’t included in the discount.

How to activate

In the app, go to Membership, select DSW21 as your partner and enter your subscription number.

DVG

Duisburg

Conditions

30 free minutes on every metropolradruhr rental, with no annual fee. After that, the basic tariff applies.
Standard bikes only. E-bikes and cargo bikes aren’t included in the discount.

How to activate

Get your personal membership code at the DVG KundenCenter or by emailing kundenservice@dvg-duisburg.de.
In the app, add a payment method, then enter your code under Membership. The free minutes are added to every rental automatically.

Ruhrbahn

Essen and Mülheim an der Ruhr

Conditions

30 free minutes on every metropolradruhr rental. After that, the basic tariff applies.
Reduced tariff: 1.50 € for the first 30 min, then 1.25 € for every additional 30 min, up to 20 € per 24 hr.
If you rent more than 1 bike at the same time, the free minutes apply to the first bike only.
Cargo and e-cargo bikes aren’t included in the discount.

Essen main station: Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 18:00, Saturday from 9:00 to 14:00
Berliner Platz, Essen: Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 18:00, Saturday from 9:00 to 14:00

HCR

Herne and Castrop-Rauxel

Conditions

For HCR subscribers with a DeutschlandTicket, DeutschlandTicket Job or Ticket2000.
30 free minutes on every rental of a standard bike. After that, the basic tariff applies.

How to activate

In the app, add a payment method, then go to Membership.
Enter HCR_ followed by your 6-digit subscription number, for example HCR_123456. You’ll find the number on the back of your chip card.
